afterwards
Afterwards is a high quality information booklet aimed at patients who have recently undergone treatment for cancer and is intended to help the psychological recovery process. It was commissioned by clinical psychologist Dr Mike Osborne who felt there was a need to clarify the confusing range of emotions and strong feelings that may be experienced.
The visual images seem to reach patients on a deeper level than words alone and are a powerful aid to dialogue between patient, medical staff and family or friends.
Fatigue can affect the whole way you look at your everyday life. Lots of things you used to take for granted, now take a lot more effort - even thinking and talking.....
Treatment tends to make you feel unattractive and low in confidence. This plus the strain and fatigue can really affect your intimate relationships.......
It is common to feel very awkward in public or with people you know when you have cancer.....
It's important that you understand as much as you feel you need to about your treatment and that you feel involved in the whole thing.
